What does Custom Hand Lettering cost?

Of course your budget is a concern. I offer a range of options that take into consideration the complexity of the work, the size of the business, and the degree of its usage. After we have spoken (yes, I’d prefer to talk when possible) and I have a clear idea of the scope of the project, I will give you an accurate estimate. Project prices range from $500 – $3,000.

What is the process?

After we decide to move forward with your project, I would like to move fairly quickly. If we need to talk additionally, you have a brief to send, or have any visual references to send (these can be especially helpful), we’ll take care of that to establish a clear direction before I start working.

Exploratory Round – These are loose pencil roughs. I’ll explore as many options as I can think of, normally 5-10 versions. From this wide range of options, you might end of going a direction you had never even considered. You pick your favorite (ideally just one) and then we’ll move onto the next round of lettering.

Refinement Round – I will fine tune your pick from the Exploratory. This is tightly drawn lettering showing 3-5 variations (in some cases I will work in vectors). Again, you pick your favorite. If what you see is exactly what you want – great, we’ll move onto the Final Art. If not quite there, I will do a round of revisions.

Final Art – The agreed upon refined lettering will be turned into vectors using Adobe Illustrator. There may be minor adjustments. On rare occasions pixels are used for Final Art.

I’d love to hear from you.
